ABOUT THE ARTIST
Welcome, I am happy you have taken the time to visit.
I was born in Lancaster, Ohio in 1946 and spent the majority of my life in my hometown. I raised my family in Lancaster, with my wife Mary Anne, and found much happiness and artistic inspiration in my time living there.
I am an artist with a focus mainly in watercolor. Much of my work is still inspired by the idyllic country settings and natural spaces around my community. I have a series of paintings, that you can find in the prints section, that celebrate the historic places and the vibrant events that made life in my small town special. I graduated from the Ohio State University and the University of Dayton and worked as a high school art teacher for 40 years. Because learning is a life-long process, I have worked with many watercolor artists to improve my abilities. Notable among these artists are: Frank Webb, Leland McClelland, Bill Vrscak, Laurie Goldstein-Warren, and Christopher Leeper. During the summer months I continue to participate in art festivals throughout Ohio. My paintings have been included in Ohio Watercolor Society shows, Central Ohio Watercolor Society shows, and numerous group and solo shows throughout the area. My paintings are in many corporate and private collections throughout the United States.
Painting has been a life-long passion. Today, I continue to explore different techniques, subject matter, and methods of creating. I hope that my work brings you joy and that you will stop back often to explore what is new.
